I don't know... Just a few days ago I got goose bumps watching two Falcon 9 rocket boosters land side by side in upright position after lifting a heavy payload into space... then shortly after the main rocket landed on a drone ship at sea... first time ever doing what I saw as science fiction when a kid (rockets landing on their tails).

He's got vision AND a way to get people to follow and invest in his vision... the second is people skills I had to work hard at for small teams and never could expand it to start new companies even though I suggested using the site Tesla has as HQ today for a solar energy R&D company with HP folks after that Fiorina witch ruined the company.... I even built a working solar hot tub heater and had a VC from England come over to see it in 2001... but it was clearly not a money maker with small, no tiny, volume while Musk started with autos that everyone knows how much energy they use and waste. I even looked into his "Power Wall" ideas back then as a way to buy electricity at night from the grid when it is cheap here from hyrdro having to keep the rivers full... then using it during the day.

So... I give him a TON of credit... just none of my money.

Are you sure it isn't personal with you?

Also, His BORING company could solve traffic problems if he could get the cost down.

It would also solve the high expectation high school suicide problem here with kids walking in front of trains.... by putting them under ground... right under Cal Train. It would help our traffic too not having to stop for so many train crossings.
