I can understand that, but my question is very technical - would have been a problem to heighten the clearance of the airplane body via the plane wheels supporting gear?

People often mistake experience for ability. It's possible for a novice to fly a plane with a lot of assistance, but this also requires a lot of luck.
You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

High ability plus lots of experience is the way to go. Some golfers have decades of experience but can't break 80. Or even 100.
