Hello, Joe and Nevin. I saw an article in PC Magazine that mentioned something called digital VCR which the author thinks will give serious competion to DVD. The good thing about digital VCR is that it is backward compatible with all the existing tapes out there while enhancing the existing video technology. Of course, it will record in digital format. But I have not seen this digital VCR technology mentioned anywhere else.

I am interested in DVD not only for the sake of OAKT but also possible investment in other stocks, for instance, C-Cube. However, as you discussed, DVD has been slow in taking off. It looks to me that DVD will eventually replace CD-ROM simply because it offers much larger storage capacity. The question is when. I guess that no one knows for sure at this point, and all we can do is keeping our eyes open.
