NO, this is fundamentally wrong (and pure DSL marketing B.S.).


No, this is not pure DSL marketing B.S. The problem is that much of the existing cable was setup with only broadcast in mind and not for Internet access, whereas everyone phone lines are inherently setup for bi-directional, point-to-point. This is one of the main reasons why the cable to the home needs to be upgraded, so that there is no performance bottleneck into the home.

Como esta amigo, glad to see some coherent comments after the weeks of illiterate babble on this thread. Notice that few if any of the old group say anything anymore. The newbies are just rehashing what we figured out last year. All they need to do is go back and study this thread from Oct. DSL? It is truly amazing the power of misinformation in our information society. DSL! We've got the telephone so let's go install a telegraph. After all, it is a viable technology. Ah, ha ha.
