Estoy bien mis amigo. ?Y tu?

>>> It is truly amazing the power of misinformation in our information society. <<<

I don't think you've really thought this through yet!

@home's biggest competitor is now AOL and will include the RBOCs within 9 to 12 months. Think about it... And traveling business users will and do avoid @home in droves in favor of AOL because they can access their Email from anywhere in the US. @home's maximum market potential is up to 30 to 35% of the home market and some very small percentage of the business market. AOL and the RBOCs maximum market potential is 70 to 90% of the home market and nearly 100% of the business market.

You may also find it interesting that I am an @home user in San Diego through Cox Cable and will drop it like a rock as soon as DSL is available through Pacific Bell in my area.

On another note...

Subj: Merrill Lynch more cautious on @HOME

Merrill Lynch tells salesforce the following this morning:

1. Merrill, after speaking to management, is now increasingly more
cautious on the shares of @HOME.
2. Management has guided them significantly lower on the roll-out of the
@HOME service for 1998. The penetration of @HOME will take longer than
expected. Installations are taking longer than they thought.
Furthermore, demonstrations in shopping malls, advertising campaigns,
etc. are taking more of a toll on the cable operators than expected.
Although demand remains strong, the technology is one where the person
has to experience it first before they fall in love with it.
3) @WORK is doing very well..
Overall, they still like the stock, but remain more cautious than
before.

You say DSL is not viable. Tell that to the 4000 sites that subscribe to it today.

Oh, my friend, it's sad... Quality is waaay down lately. It's nice to see bam's entry, though. He seems to know of what he speaks.

It feels like opportunity is upon us to pick up a (relative) value. The earnings announcement was solid (though grantedly not breakout), the xDSL silliness of MSFT/CPQ/INTC will fade quickly into obscurity, and it feels like big things may be brewing. What's your sage read of the tea leaves?
