To beat Trump, the Dems need a platform that's realistic and a genuine alternative to the Trump philosophy. But what is the Dem platform? Spend 880 Trillion dollars for a new Green Deal and tax Wall Street investors and traders. Sounds pretty sick to me. Who in their right mind wants to pay for that?
Dems don't like Trump's style. Sure, he is a sexist and racist, dislikes minorities and is pro business and anti-environment. But what do the Dems stand for? They had an opportunity to distinguish themselves from Trump by explaining why they were for single payer and free public state tuition for families earning under 125k. If the later was passed by the Republican NYS Senate, which is not liberal or progressive, it could pass in the USA. But no, Dems love Trump's tariffs and come across as the biggest spendthrifts ever. Plus, resenting those who are successful is a cheap emotion. Dems are completely out of touch with the electorate. More importantly, Dems are alienating a big chunk of their base. That is why I see them losing to Trump by the largest margin ever.
