Interesting. I can see how this may be crucial when doing active discretionary trading. These days I'm a lot closer to buy and hold than to active trading. Using some fairly slow moving momentum / trend following principles, meant to give sell signals during significant declines, but ignore the few percentage points ripples. I expect to be retired soon, but - no interest in going back to trading. Maybe it will happen, but so far I'm OK with what I'm doing.
