SOLOMAN SMITH BARNEY today wrote BAY'S recent acquisition of the New Oak Communication and Netspeak fuel new growth opportunities. Key Points:Netspeak--IP Telephony---Bay recently announced an OEM and joint technology agreement with Netspeak, along with a 9% equity investment ($37.6 million) in the IP telephony company. We view the Netspeak product as the most advanced product today for supporting application of voice and fax over IP, in addition to concrete solutions for emerging market demands. Based on industry analysis, we believe Netspeak is more than 2 years ahead of their competitors in the IP telephony market segment.

I listened to the conference call , the entire hour plus ...and I came away all warm and fuzzy as a shareholder. I also thought David House did a very good job this morning on CNBC...I thought upgrades would be in order I.E. "Bay has turned the corner and is headed in the right direction with Adaptive Networking strategy".
The questions that they couldnt answer in the conference call seemed to be just a matter of not having the exact numbers or details at hand, and they told the analyts to call them and that they would have the numbers. In general I felt the call and forward guidence was positive...I am at a loss as to why, other than a historical weak March Quarter, that so many firms would downgrade us ????
...feeling like Bay is the Rondney Dangerfield of the networkers...
