The plastic netting not secured sub soil is problematic.. City slicker vermin appear smarter than their country cousins iin my experience.. I have a friend lives on a farm.. She hangs tin foil plates on strings to scare away raccoons and deer.. Here the raccoons would use the plates as drums/cymbals to party while chowing down on the corn,.. They always seem to know the day you plan to harvest and come the night before :) Chippies and squirrels will find a way under eventually and your self satisfaction will be dashed :))

The domes through summer heat also problematic.. Likely will cook your plants...

Meeka though I am jealous.. as I mentioned when we had our big cat and two heelers (pity the squirrel that stopped 7-8 feet up the tree or less to look.. .. Heeler Jaws would get em...) .. We were vermin free in those years..

I just repaired chicken wire 2in.. It was chewed through by likely a groundhog I still have not gotten off my plot.... Chippies and squirrels not interested in kale, lettuce, and brussels's sprouts.. Groundhogs love the stuff.. rabbits too but this hole as too big for a rabbit..

Just sayin' :)

I am going to forsake one are from planting this season and start a covered structure that I can get into and out of easily.. I do not have storage issues .. If I can get it done fast enough I will still have time for late spinach/kale/radish etc.. My Hardnecks are forming scapes...

Since I have my son healing this year I am doing a lot of for the future stuff at the plot..

agree on the coyotes but you need to watch your small pets then also.. although we never had issues.. between our doggies and big cat.. the little cat was safe :)) we had the occasional coyote, lots of foxes (no problem except for little cat) and lots of hawks also..
