Jeffrey,

Turned on OPRAH to watch the word get out on y2k. After about a minute, ABC interrupted the program and switched to Cuba and the arrival of the Pope. So much for our day in the sun, or so it appears. I assume Oprah comes on at different times around the country, so perhaps someone who sees the program can give those of us shut out a short report of what happened - good, bad or indifferent.

Regards,
JimG

Jeff,
Alydaar Software Corp. shares were higher Wednesday, with an analyst who follows the company saying the advance was in response to optimism over an alliance with Compuware Corp., potential European contracts, and a bearish earnings and revenue outlook.
Otto Grote, who follows the company for Derby Securities, said Compuware (CPWR) delivered Tuesday a bullish outlook regarding its partnership with Alydaar, which is working to develop a fix for the so-called Year 2000 problem that could cause computers to go haywire after 1999.

Our friend Otto's post mortem of "bearish expectation" is to be appreciated as he seems to be ahead of his colleagues. The chart did not care. Momentum is much stronger than we have seen when it was listed on NASDAQ. Should break through 21 and to pause in 23-24 area if the volume continues. Good earnings report will take it higher to speculative levels. Looks like quality conversion houses are going to have a field day soon, although some may believe otherwise! Ram

Humble question, Jeff, TED, David, and all the rest of you hands-on guys, as an Apple Evangelist ( shankman.com ), I can't help but ask what may be one of the dummest questions on my part - ever - namely, do any of you think that AAPL may be a sort of y2k play?

With the latest developments in the company, the fact that Macs are said to be y2k compliant, and some of the stuff I read (see links below), I just had to ask, thinking that maybe some of those that must get rid of their old machines may, just maybe, consider it?

OK, I know, nuts, right?
