>>Has anyone heard any news about Apple's search for a new CEO?<<

Becky, we all just got up and left. ;-)

Seriously, I guess it's a testament to the value of SI discussions for you to be trolling here for rumors or info. I think many of us believe that although Steve Jobs has repeatedly declined the permanent CEO position, he still might do so. I think even Steve Jobs understands that many CEO candidates are concerned about his own interference once they take the job (pardon the pun).

It must be no fun running a company that is under seige, and to have everyone and their brother telling you how to run it right. Now that Jobs has brought the company back to real profitability he's a "hero" and can at least bask in some satisfaction of delivering on a very difficult goal. Surely he must be having a little more fun now. If he can continue to recreate a more viable Apple, perhaps he'll reconsider taking a permanent position. Pixar is a great company, but it ain't gonna change the world.
