you can't be bothered voting in a statistically insignificant way. A vote is not insignificant It only takes 50% plus one vote to elect a candidate of a party And it only takes 50% plus one member to form a majority governing body. Every vote counts even if the party a person votes for fails to be elected. The percentage of the electorate who voted for the opposition in most cases influence the manner in which the elected party governs. If they go in with a landslide they ignore wishes of opposition voters. If it is very close to equal they know if they wish to be re-elected they must cow toe a bit trying to win over some of the swing votes next time around. Not voting is not ordaining the outcome. What not voting says is you really don't care one way or another to express your wish. It makes your opinion irrelevant. A non voter would be perfectly reasonable to take up arms to overthrow the outcome. That is absurd. If you or any group in the civilized world of North America.
