WOW! All of this has somehow slipped by me!!! Maybe when I hear the name Paula Jones I just tune out. But the news about an affair with a staffer inside White House is new news for me.

I wouldn't have thought that Clinton would have had an affair while he was in White House. Politically, it's suicide. The public does not like romance scandals these days. The Kennedy men's romantic affairs have turned people off.

I'll have a look at Washington Post report. Do you know if the Washington Post supports Democrats or Republicans--generally?

I had hoped the orchid might brighten your day. It's overcast here.

Clinton used James Carville to play the 'class' card in Clinton's defense, by coming out in the press and saying something like "It's amazing what comes out when you drag a $100 bill through a trailer park." Tacky and below the belt!!!

Why? Jones's own sister is on record as saying Paula came to visit her later that day crowing that she'd found a way to make some money.

'Primary Colors' is about to be released, also. It is the film version of the somewhat scathing book written anonymously by someone high up in the first campaign...

Primary Colors hasn't been "anonymous" for at least a year. It was written by Joe Um (can anyone help me here?) a regular Newsweek columnist. Quite a furore when he was identified. I'm amazed you're not aware of it, living in the States and everything.

Well, Christine, I read the Washington Post article. I dunno what to say other than I am flabbergasted.

I agree that even if the young intern had an affair with Clinton it shouldn't have anything to do with Paula Jones unless the two women knew one another.

According to the paper the, intern has denied, under oath, that she had an affair with Clinton. So what motives could Tripp have for making tapes? Did she make the tapes illegally?

And even if the intern told Tripp she had a sexual encounter with Clinton, she might have made it up especially if she denied it under oath.

When I was the intern's age I told my friends that I was sexually involved with a boyfriend. I wasn't!!

I haven't read the book, PRIMARY COLORS.

Looks like Slick Willy finally snagged Little Willy in his zipper. The fun begins.

Can you say "suborning perjury"?
