Discovered a NTFS drive can be mounted in Linux, although not used for the installation.

The default format partition type for installation with most Linux versions today is Ext4.

It's been about 5 years since I played with Linux. Knew it wouldn't install on NTFS, but didn't know NTFS drives could be mounted and read and written to.
