[The new landscape of ADSL]

I having a hard time understanding the ADSL landscape with "spitterless ADSL".

The way it was the RBOC could really stick it to anolog modem industry. I.E. if the RBOC's leased the modem, modem players with retail distribution are dead.

But the "Spitterless" has provided a rebirth to companies such as 3COM.

My question--- Who Wins with a "spitterless" future????

Hey Pat,

This whole xDSL thing has been lingering up and down for some time, but jeezes, when the big folks come to party, it seems like ADSL has all of a sudden gone from the mouse to the magician in one big media wave.

Aware takes off, Pair goes nuts, Wstl leaps a little but can't get past half court. I have learned a great deal over the last year just watching the games the media and the company's play with each other.
Splitterless becomes a la mode, and within 24 hours, everyone from wiglaf to wendy releases press. When I read something now, I think the first thing I ask is, "Okay, I love this company, but how much stuff isn't vapor in here?"

What I do like, was that Pair looks like they Will have splitterless chips in a couple months. :-) For all I know, they won't come out until december. From people on these boards, it seems that TI won't have chips ready until fall. Is this true? I have a lot of questions that I am working on.
With all thats happened in a few crazy days, things still aren't too different, of course; one day, awre looks like it will take over all of adsl, the next...pair looks like falcon will look to swoop in before the rest. nice call on awre, by the way.

still debating whether its smarter to buy a little of each in the basket (pair, wstl, awre, ti, adi, coms, orkt, hayz) or to go for it some place with just two?

i want my dmt, of course.
