Not only is the writer racist and wrong but probably doesn't know that Africans are getting the same deal that Maoris, Indians, Africans and whatnot got from jolly olde England except that China's totalitarian megalomaniacs don't have their John Stuart Mill, habeas corpus, common law, democracy with the colonized becoming Made in China subjects equal to dinkum Chinese with Made in China passports free to go and live anywhere including China. The writer need not worry about the debt of local yokels to Made in China banks as the local governments can simply abrogate the loans if they seem onerous. Greece should ditch the euroloans (though -0.3% is a generous interest rate best kept for now) and establish a country of private property, private enterprise and tradable citizenship. Grexit rulz ok. The wonderful English were so magnanimous that they would educate local yokels such as Gandhi, Eugene Chen, Robert Mugabe and even the barbarian Idi Amin so that they would be able to lead their countries to freedom and over the cliff if the locals liked the idea of those rulers instead of Whitehall which brought civilisation on a grand scale. Unfortunately the cliff jumping seemed an excellent idea and the horrors and depredations in thise countries is now history. Individuals in those countries vote with their feet regarding their local rulers and choose English colonisation if they can get in to the Anglophone countries. South Africa is now going down the drain. Voting doesn't mean people can vote themselves opm and get an awesome life. It just means they can evict the Amin, Mugabe, Gandhi and Mao types if the electorate has the sense to do so. Which they don't have when opm is offered by the evil doers who smile beatifically. Of course Made in China colonialism provides the good stuff just as the great and glorious Englande provided. But John Stuart Mill and Liberty are not their operating manual. Caveat emptor = a fine english phrase. While the local yokels chose to abandon the British Empire thinking it a grest idea, the English were quietly doing the same as they were being overrun by British subjects who were more third than first world. Now Englande is pulling up the drawbridge and slamming down the portcullis at the English channel too. It's a bit late with Sadiq Khan in charge of Whitehall. China has the numbers to take over, not just lead as the English did with their minuscule numbers. Plus ca change = another excellent english phrase. Noblesse oblige ... yet another great English idea which is thin on the ground in other realms. Mqurice
