I hope we start moving upward!!! However, I checked some of the other semiconductor equip stocks (KLAC, NVLS) and KLAC moved down significantly today. KLIC bucked the trend and moved up with AMAT. NVLS was about even and SFAM moved slightly lower. These stocks seem to move in sync so I wonder if AMAT is headed lower tomorrow or if the other semis are headed up.

Small Fry and threaders, The 1/21/98 NYSE BP is 52.40 up from 49.90% the week before; the OTC 43.70% up from 39.90%; the 10WEEK 55.79% up from 42.77%; bank, savings and loan, insurance, finance, real estate, wall street sector stayed within 0-1.5% points from the previous week while the technology stocks appear to be moving up. The computer sector moved from 36.30% to 32.00, semi's from 25.50 to 32.30%, Software from 35.30 to 40.60% and electronics from 31.30 to 35.90. AMAT's DW Relative Strengh is a BUY.

IMHO, it appears that the sector has established an upward Bull Support line along with AMAT with a double top at $33 and a Bull Alert, The Bear Resistance line is at $39. IMO, using the verticle method of calculation the immediate potential it appears is $47ish. Using the Horizontal method the long range potential is $62ish. Naturally, Tito's yoyo effect will again prevail. IMO, the funds are holding at 403 funds in the amat, and from todays movement appear to be revolving more into the SEMI sector.

I will be watching the 70% in the SEMI sector (above) as then the sector will be in the overbought area.

Just my opinion.
