I have little to offer about Chinese airlines companies. But I think I read some news, (sorry, I don't even remember the source), said that China's airline is going to be under merging and consolidation this year. I think right now there are about 20 some airlines in China. That news said it will be merged into 5-6 for the sake of efficiency among other things although I think it will take a few years to finish merging.
And IMO, Chinese airlines now still in the early stage of an enterprises. I mean they still have too much capital spending. It will take a few years to start to see some profit, I maybe wrong. As for the domestic airlines' business, they are good. There are simply too many people not enough transportation. But I don't think they are very profitable because of the question of effciency.
