S3 much longer.>

Both of these jerks will be in jail soon.

Ken,
I can appreciate (as well as the others on this thread), the time you have spent analyzing the reports and coming up with these figures, which, I have no doubt, are fairly accurate. However, after the little table, your text starts out like a novel and reads like a Stephen King novella for the high-tech industry. "For reasons
known only to himself, Disodado Banatao, the chairman of the Board
sold 59667 shares of stock on Jan 27 and 28."

It seems to me there was a press release a week or so ago in which he
stated he was involved in another startup. That's a reason that even I know about.

We can guess and postulate all we want about who knew what and when. I guess that since the company isn't exactly forthcoming with info about what's downline for the next 2-24 weeks (not that it should) there's not much to talk about anymore on this thread, meatwise, and guesses and postulations are rampant!

Also, with regards to the future of the company: " If they (SEC)decide to prosecute the key personnel (Disodado Banatao, Gary
Johnson, possibly George Hervey) I think the company is history."

and "PS. I wouldn't count on either Gary Johnson or Disodado
Banatao being affiliated with S3 much longer."
What would it matter as to who fired them? If they are guilty and gone or if they are incompetents and gone, the result is the same....SIII can get on with its purpose.

Just my thoughts on it.

And Frank....It IS the water! I told you....that's why the Nine execs came out here. To enjoy the fine Delta waters and do some sport fishing. It wasn't business at all.

>Insider sales

>Sept, Oct, Nov 1996--- 171,455 shares 11 Directors and officers
>December 2,1996--- 5000 shares 1 Officer
>January 1997--- 59,667 1 Officer

For completeness, I think it is important to note that S3 insiders still own over 1.8 million shares. Fraud seems hardly worth it on all fronts, but who ever said a criminal is smart? The convertible bond issue bothers me the most, that is major $$$.

Important conference call. If I'm not mistaken, S3 was supposed to have Faroudja available for sampling 1Q98. I for one volunteer to sample Faroudja :-). I'm sure S3 will be pressed about when their upcoming products will be available, any waffling on this topic would make me highly skepical that S3 will be ready for Windows 98/cheap Pentium II. Once again it is my belief that S3 needs to be EARLY in order to secure DESIGN WINS. Missing another cycle or even part of it would be disasterous for S3. Watching STB and seeing if they adopt the next S3 chipset may be a good barometer.

Of note, SonicVibes has proved that even if S3 delivers on the next generation graphics product doesn't mean their products will be accepted or that competitors will outdo S3. Our friends at ATI, Intel, and other companies have had ample time to come up with a digital video solution. It's like war, you need superior hardware, strategy, and strong leadership. S3 has none of these in place right now. Given the current status of the company, the conference call cannot be deficient in any of these areas. Good Luck TH, the "personable" GJ would not have had a prayer of a chance.
