I have a vague recollection of that, very vague. Looking at it cold now, and based mostly on a couple of anecdotes, I wonder how big a deal that reversal really was as a practical matter. Symbolically, sure. As a practical matter, maybe not.

Through personal experience, I know of two cohorts who would likely comprise much of that 75K list and who are no more a threat of gun violence than the Pope. That's not to say that there would be harm in putting them on the list, only that it would serve no useful purpose. If those screens stop the real threats, maybe that's OK. Just suggesting that the action did not increase our threat by anywhere near 75K.

I'd say the evidence is clear that the assault weapons ban saved lives. It needs to be reinstated,
