Did Trump say why he's interested in Greenland?

Strategic location on the North Polar Sea. A lot of undeveloped natural resources, which Denmark cannot afford to pursue, and add to that: A lot of cool igloos to be used as n/c housing for hot-head liberals! ... so, why not?

Why not? Why wouldn't Denmark be interested - as they say - in selling Greenland to the US? They have a history track here, and so does the US having bought Alaska from the Russians ...

He didn't say so it's just another wild idea that he glommed onto and his followers and advisers are forced to defend. The country does have strategic significance and resources but we don't need to own the country to utilize those. Denmark is a NATO nation and the US has long had an AF base at Thule Greenland. Greenland's resources are available for development by firms of any nation just like resources in the North Sea or elsewhere.

Part of the problem is Trump seems to hate NATO and love Russia. So an airbase used to defend against Russian attack isn't important to him.

I notice that Elon Musk, another rich guy who loves to spout off on twitter, recently tweeted "Nuke Mars." He's pushing a hare-brained scheme to nuke Mars and supposedly turn it into a haven for life. Fortunately, Musk and Trump aren't aligned politically but if Musk can put the idea in front of Trump, he's liable to seize on it. He's been aching to use his nuclear powers from the beginning and he ordered the AF to spin off space activities into a separate command - Space Force. Nuking Mars would be a perfect mission for SPACE FORCE!.
