Obviously, by taking what you and I both noted, the basis for negotiation does not exist. Trade wars are typically fought, not negotiated, and so until pain points become excruciating, no negotiations possible. Team China will not budge. Team America will not budge. The world goes to the next level. It is possible that the trump believes he can win 2020 either way whichever way by trade war prosecution.
