Bob, Couldn't agree more.. Growing up in a major metropolitan area. I either walked or took public transportation. That in itself will reduce urban carbon footprint.. Most environmentalist won't give up their auto.. Didn't get my first vehicle until i was 20 and living in rural Tx. Needed it.. Now living at the beach, I'm in walking distance to all i need and only drive when i go hiking the Blue ridge mountains or Great smokie's. I love the out doors also. Seen enormous health benefits at 65 years of age. Yes, Most towns today provide green spaces. If people would get some exercise. They could walk to work in no time. Or, to do other minor things. I have a 2017 vehicle bought brand new summer 2016 and only have 12k miles on it. If i drive the 3 hours to go to a favorite sport venue. I'll leave the car at the hotel and walk to the venue. Avoid the long traffic delays, getting in and out. Sounds like you have a great place and yes, living in some rural areas a truck is a necessity.
Good Day
Bernie
