Bipin,

When traveling, I always use my compuserve account. They have high quality access points in most countries (in some countries they have complete local coverage) and are not too expensive.

It is very expensive to use internet privately here in Germany. It is amazing that since the end of the Telekom monopoly one has to put in a lot of energy just to figure out what alternative providers are out there and if they are really competitive. So far I am still waiting for companies making a clear statement concerning the service they have to offer and for what kind of prices. This boosting of deutsche Telekom and government here about having the most modern communications infra structure in the world, makes me barf, knowing that private users such as myself cannot take truly advantage from it, in such a way as I was used to when living in the Washington DC area. Internet surfing is only reasonably possible at the workplace (In this case a university) if you do not want to face bankruptcy in the near future. It goes as far that we are setting up computers allowing to do call back to the server in the workplace to save costs.
Considering this topic I have to envy the American consumer and share their frustation when they have to deal with communications in europe.

Greetings,
