What a stupid TED talk. Average IQ is defined among a cohort. Obviously, average performance over time will improve relative to earlier times because there is more to build on. I learn more than my dad did, and he more than his did. But we might all have the same IQ. This is an absurd misuse of the arithmetic underpinning of IQ.
