I looked into the history of the gop to see what made them so odd. During the Great Depression they feared Dems would change the country forever, making us dependant on government for everything so they started using advertising tricks to convince Americans they could do a better job. The odd part is they made people and business dependent on government by always waving tax cuts and never raising taxes. We see the remnants of ads today with slogans like "repeal and replace, WMDs, support the troops, balance the budget, shock and awe, etc." It's mindless drivel and it works but it's only an ad campaign to get elected or manipulate, not a governing plan.

They don't need to "balance the budget," they only need to say the words.
They didn't need to show us their healthcare plan, they only had to say they had one.

If we were to define them as "mindless twits" it would be too kind.
