Hi Win, Catalytic convertors are brilliant. They do good. After burners, that incinerate unburned gas fumes - no problem. They are a maintenance expense to the owners of older, higher mileage autos. A financial burden that is excused for low income people who must spend a minimum dollar amount towards improving their emissions. Still a big expense to any one. I'm an environmentalist - but an informed environmentalist. So many greenies are well intended, misinformed people. They mean, good as do I. They just have been fed a crock of misinformation, that they errantly believe. Truth has a way of surfacing I believe. It will be OK in time. Bob
