<<<PS I've even heard Aware has a patent on a design for an array of mirrors for use in a telescope.>>>

Scrapps,

It's things like this that makes AWRE a special company. I think they have good imagination, and tremendous foresight.

What a future.

I'm glad that my research pointed me to this company.

Scrapps wrote (or quoted): "Aware develops and markets xDSL technology, chipsets, modules and development systems, including hardware and software interfaces, and ultra high-speed modems. Their products let users easily and cost-effectively integrate xDSL into their own product and service offerings. Aware also develops and markets image compression software products based on wavelet technology:"

Scrapps, lets look at each of the products listed from this quote:

xDSL Technology - I think that means Aware liscenses their DMT patents, and understands xDSL DMT very well. Fine.

xDSL ChipSets - I think (but am not sure) that ADI liscenses the xDSL technology (which is most likely just source code) and makes the chipsets themselves. I don't think Aware makes any chips themselves. I may be wrong. If so, please correct me.

xDSL Modules - I interpret this as the module in the central site device (made by Cisco, 3Com, Ascend, etc.) that receives the xDSL signal. Again, this is just a liscensing agreement (to use a bunch of source code) between these companies and Aware. I don't think Aware has ever sold an Aware central site device (an access concentrator) to any ISP/telecommunications company.

xDSL development systems - actually, I have no idea what this means. What is an xDSL development system?

xDSL Hardware and Software interfaces and high speed modems - NOW this is what I'M talking about. I think Aware's management wants to sell the high speed modems that their engineers understand so well, and I think they would be better able to do so as part of an established modem vendor, such as 3Com.

That's all.

Scrapps, do you have a feel for product volume potential in sales to OEMs?
