I still have quite a bit of research to do on the motherboards but I needed to pick one to get the ball rolling.

ZP - What do you think about the use of the Poor-Mans-Raid using EIDE/Ultra33 such as the one offered by Promise? (http://www.promise.com)

Seems to be a nice cost-effective way to increase your I/O throughput without springing for the more expensive SCSI drives.

Board costs about $125, and you can set it for striping so that your file reads/writes are distributed across two drives.
