Are we talking about the service, the drillers or the equipment makers. I did the P&F on the OSX (service) it says down still. The candelsticks called for a reversal yesterday and the ADX at 33 with Negatice DI> Postive DI says that it is in a strong downtrend for now.
Also the prices bounced down from the 20 period exponential. Have not looked at equipment makers and drillers.

As for the percentage of move in a short time means not much because of high volatility. OSX was up 10 last week and this week it is down 5.5

I cannot say what will happen long term. Probably the fundamentals and specifically the crude oil price will drive these higher only if asia stabilizes. If currencies devaluate in other countries the strong demand may start dissapearing real fast as it would be difficult for these countries to afford oil. As for going long term I would wait till the sector turns.

Ah, but there seems to be a difference of opinion here as to just what everyone is yelling - "buy" or "sell!" ???

So, which is the contrarian move, when some people see a herd of bulls and others see a den full of bears? ;)
