>>But the Pentagon Dept of Public Affairs?

You're missing a key point. She was transferred to the Dept of Government affairs.

Dwight, re: serious govt stuff.

10am is always much better than 3am for real opinions.

What's going on back there in DC is not much different than what's going on in any other company on a daily basis. From a 'daily functionality' POV, you might as well look at it as USA:NASD. A bunch of people go to their jobs every morning, put in their time, then go home.

Whether it's COMS, CSCO, or USA:NASD, you still have the same imbroglios that people get themselves into. That is to say, there's some really bright, innovative, and industrious folks in the hallways stuck between a large contingent of the dumb and lazy. Somebody, somewhere, is doing his secretary. Somebody else is collecting a paycheck for securing his chair to the floor. Take your favorite company&#151the best managed, most productive&#151and tell me this isn't happening at some level in some back office somewhere in the building.

What's probably most upsetting is that you're forced to pay for it with your taxes whereas with investments you have a choice of where your money goes. Doesn't matter though. It's not about corporations or governments&#151it's about Dilbert and the way things really operate.

&#147Inquiring minds are wondering just what is going on back there in DC, where they're supposed to be running the country. We're paying these people to do a job.&#148

BTW, I'm running for office under the Dilbertarian Party next year.
