Your source for Compaq's "can't happen" statement is from the same co. that got caught inventory stuffing in 1995. And who also got caught lying in Xmas 1906, saying a pc model was completely sold out and then, the next week, coming out with $100 rebates. But some minor forest deities will believe any crap these guys spew. -g- The trick is, CPQ could, against all odds, be telling the truth and it is just their numbers and estimates that are skewed toward the pollyanna side. BTW, I have no position at all in Compaq at the moment, other than as the owner of a crappy machine that they cannot fix. MB Any response?? I feel like I'm watching a tennis match.
