Ok, so yes to most people the local weather is the most important thing, as in the case of tornadoes you mentioned. And I grant you that a single tornado or even a string of them over a few years does not make a climate. BUT, if we observe a global trend towards extreme weather events, then the chances that your local weather is also affected increases dramatically. And this is in fact what we are seeing. Climate change deniers keep obfuscating weather with climate by cherry picking exceptions around the world to prove their case. In effect they claim (and sometimes explicitly state) that organizations as diverse as the US military and World Health Organization are in conspiracy to enrich a handful of people. As to the CO2 and the dominant cause, I have not argued it here. And I have this to say. When you are in sinking ship, you may have to throw many things over the board even though they did not cause the sinking. It is sufficient reason that lightening the boat helps the situation, regardless of the causes. Another analogy is that a person may be genetically predisposed to cancer and work in a steel mill, but those conditions do not give him a license to deny the effect of smoking on cancer and become a chain smoker. (side note I knew of people who made that exact argument, pointing to old men who smoked a pack of cigarettes a day and salad eating people who got cancer as "proof" that smoking is not related to cancer and they should be allowed to smoke all they want).
