Actually you have it backwards. The whole idea behind mass immigration was to dilute English speaking Canada while strengthening Quebec nationalism. For if you knew a tiny bit about Canadian history, Quebec was and still is the only province in Canada with its own distinct immigration policy. In other words Quebec is the only province which has a legal say over the type of immigrants they will allow in the province.

Yes but they have immigration protections... There are lot of immigrants from everywhere now.. and UNLIKE when I was a kid when all the immigrant kids learned English well .. plus French.. effectively being tri-lingual.. They are less and less learning English as the generations are more settled...

THAT was the REAL issue for Bernier's run.. QC is experiencing EXACTLY the same as Canada.... It is a cultural divide.. Joke is on QC yes.. no more two solitudes but multi solitudes ... and not anymore or less than Canada if you have an immigrant issue.. exactly the same.. It appears speaking French is not enough... There are MANY MANY Francophone immigrants now.. but not many new Québecois de Souche or alternatively Pur Laine ...

Le Québec sait faire !!.. err.. well.. not so much it appears :))
