Iomega has a smart decision to attack the Zip disc sales problems with a $100MM ad blitz. They have to spend the money now, because they are in real danger of losing at least that much in revenue this year if they don't improve their tie ratios (hurting due to OEM sales).

Buz excitement should be tempered. I don't expect that much of a profit frm it's sales. All it is meant to do is improve tie ratios by creating demand for discs, since video and audio are so storage-hungry. We'll see if it works, because there are already numerous such consumer peripherals out there. Iomega will undoubtedly, however, market theirs much better.

Don't bet the farm on Vapor!
