Push ups and pull ups are great exercises. (Careful your shoulders doing push ups). Listened to Younger Next Year and was convinced strength training is very beneficial after 50. (I'm an immature 68 now.) Started doing assisted pull ups a couple years ago and now doing sets of 10 unassisted. Accepted a challenge from sons-in-law to do one more push up a day for a year. At 5-6 sets of 30 now. Went from 186lbs to 165. It's all a matter of doing it, keeping at it. Great mental, attitudinal and emotional benefits. (Call my 800 number for consultations ;^ ) )) Get er done.

I tried the Biden challenge. I did 5 and if I attempted 6 it would have been hugely painful - but perhaps possible. I am 72. I think I might work on the exercise.

If I didn't read the previous posts,

I would have thought

"the Biden challenge"

is how many dumb things one can say one after the other. :-)

Pushups - make sure shoulders are firmly in place, don't let them shrug up, shoulder blades firmly on back.

Partial pushups or one knee pushups are better than full pushups in bad form.

The best exercise is walking and I have a dog that needs to be walked 3 times a day. Last night I was late getting out and he was sitting in the dark by the front door and I could hear him growling. Lots of rabbits and cats to chase at night when I let him off the leash. He travels well and only weighs about 35 lbs.
