Ro33,
If you want to give your hero credit for turning the economy around then I certainly cannot prevent this
No single person can turn an economy around. Government has less influence over the market cycle than you think, although it can certainly destroy markets with too much interventionism.
Obama bailed out the 3 US automakers rather than letting them go under as Romney was proposing. How did that work out?
You can't even get your facts straight. Only two out of the three auto makers were bailed out. Ford recovered all on its own.

Besides, the bailouts did nothing but preserve the status quo. Even now, GM has cancelled their Volt and is still having major disputes with labor. They are not the pillar of the U.S. economy as they once were.
I could continue but that is enough for now.
You are projecting your own desire for a hero.

I don't think Trump is an economic genius, nor do I think he's primarily responsible for the good economy we're having now. But under his tenure, the economy is certainly doing much, much better than what some liberal economists were predicting, especially Nobel Prize laureate Paul Krugman.
