Your economic as well as political concerns have been mine for a lot of years. I started thinking about all of this stuff a long time ago. My wife says it gets really dangerous when i start thinking.--lol I tried to find a new country back then and did quite a bit of research on the subject. However, I finally realized i was probably already a citizen of the best one--it ain't worth squat but it is the best i think. I never did really find a way to completely protect me and mine in the event of a real collapse and finally gave up on wasting time on the subject. The only thing i could come up with is stay debt free, which i already was and still am, and invest as wisely as possible being mindful of "how will it end" as you called it. PS--if i was younger i might light out for one of the ex-patriot enclaves in Brazil--there are many. But i don't speak Portuguese--ouch
