Tom:
<< Reminds me of the time several years ago when Beijing declared it unlawful for citizens to mount and use satellite TV dishes.

I am wondering that what is the source for this "unlawful for citizens to mount and use satellite TV dishes." I heard this too before I went back to China in 1993. But when I saw quite a few friends of mine in Beijing had them, and they told me that nothing illegal. And a lot of stores on the street were selling them too. I even asked: is it illegal? The sales person told me no, it is completely legal.

So I doubt, this is probably just another piece of US-made "news" about China.
