My wife scanned her phone for recent photos that had Mika in it. There were 91 pics just since the end of summer. No matter what we were doing, Mika was inserting herself into it. e.g. sometimes I'd "summon" the kids to my office, and they'd make a mock single file march singing hop-2-3-4 and Mika would happily join in the line up and march with them at the tail of the line.

Another favorite memory of mine is when I took the kids to a small park near us during the summer. We separated paths walking back home - the two oldest went up then right, and the youngest and I went right then up. Poor Mika had a hard time choosing who to go with. She kept walking with me while also barking and objecting that I am leaving the other two behind. At the next block intersection, she saw them coming to us and absolutely refused to move and made me wait for the other two. So I let her lose to get them. She ran to them, rushing them and herding them back to the pack. By the time they were with me, Mika saw that my youngest had roller bladed too far ahead. So she ran up the street to her barking and bring her back to us...she was taking care of her flock and herding the kids ;)

My wife has many videos of Mika accompanying her to the lake before the dawn - sharing the peaceful mornings.

If anyone knows of a lawyer who can help, please let me (or him) contact him. We are no longer in NYC. We are now in Toronto, Canada.
