S Banerjee,

A great read. Thanks.

Although chances to be adopted by Asian countries using American SEC system or IMF system are pretty slim because of nationalism. That is a very bitter pill to be swallowed.

You can bet Korean students or workers won't like the ideas per reported about IMF's restrictions on Korea.

Thanks for the posting again.

Brian H.

**off topic (slightly)**

Lester Thurow?? I appreciate reading more about SEA but lets not cite an economist who has been right about practically nothing. He was with rest of the liberals in the 80's questioning our competitive position. Looks like he was right--NOT!! Just want to say take him with a big grain of salt! Now if you want somebody with a good record post some Gilder or Drucker on the thread! Not traditional economists but at least they know what they are talking about and have a RECORD OF CORRECT PREDICTIONS. Economics are changing and clowns like Thurow keep writing the same old stuff.

S Banerjee, terrific post and link to Thurow. Thanks. Hell of an article--Lester's not the slowest little bunny in the warren, is he? Thanks again. Mike Doyle
