I think there are definitely differing views of how future life will be preferred.

The current Millennials are very urban oriented and differ with their desires for experiences over material possessions.

I keep going back to watching my nephews.

My oldest nephew fit that model closely, unti le hit 30.

At 30 he married is girlfriend, bought a house out in the suburbs and had a child all within 2 years.

They are late to trigger and then move extremely fast into a lifestyle that much more closely aligns to past generations.

Both of the newly weds had parental help with good degrees (that took a long time to achieve) and are doing well after they played a long time in downtown Chicago.

They will work longer to overcome their slower start and I suspect the social security will be deferred to older age limits.

Better health and less money in 401k's (from a deferred career start) will necessitate the modifications - much like our generation had to deal with.

The U.S. so far has ducked the bullet of over reliance of green energy (and it hugely expensive costs). We have natural gas and it is the way to fly as far as actual CO2 reduction.

There's a lot of talk out there regarding other ways of achieving it. So far all they've proven is it costs more than "AS BILLED" and it has had no improvement in its claimed benefits. So it is a bust, sadly that Europe has jumped into prematurely.

Hate to say it but the only thing that has stopped fossil fuel consumption has been the Corona virus. To me it shows how dependent normal life still is on Fossil Fuels. Particularly significant on travel by plane and boats.
