2/14/2020 Contest update (Contest YTD is calculated from 1/3/2020 close.) Yet another week of record highs for stocks. Will the doom and gloomers ever admit they are “lying dog-faced pony soldiers”? At Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 6.57% YTD (vs. up 4.45% YTD a week ago), the Nasdaq Biotech Index (NBI) was up 3.44% YTD (vs. up 2.72% YTD a week ago), the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index (SPSIBI) was up 3.93% YTD (vs. up 2.07% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Composite Index (NCI), was up 7.88% YTD (vs. up 5.54% YTD a week ago). FILO’s portfolio, up 46.23% YTD, moved into the Contest lead with JBOG’s portfolio, up 43.54% YTD, dropping to second place. But keep your eye on fast-climbing BULBA’s portfolio, in striking distance with a 40.74% YTD gain. At Friday's close, 33 of the 42 Contest portfolios were in the green, with 26 beating the NBI and the same 26 beating the SPSIBI.
