Agreed it’s not that simplistic. But the willful deception, brainwashing, gaslighting etc that causes their members to give up their autonomy is very cultish. As is the demonization of DJT as the big evil monster threat, a common hatred that unites and galvanizes the cult members. Between the Alinsky rules for radicals (for their enemies) and the psychological manipulation strategy of cult leaders (for their sheeple), the left’s playbook is wide open. And it’s a waste of time to try and convince cult followers to snap out of it. The irony is that they try to portray Trump’s base as a cult.
