Except of course that that admission would help Jones prove a "pattern of behavior" which is exactly what her lawyers are trying to do.

Yes, that's true. Though as I understand it there's a good deal of doubt whether such evidence would be considered admissable by the judge hearing the trial. He should, however, not have denied it. I think he should simply have said that his personal life was none of their business. Am not clear about whether one is required to answer ANY question at all when under oath. I would guess not, however.

If that were not possible he should just have said yes. Remember, Monica hasn't charged any sort of harassment, so what "pattern of behavior" are we talking about? Seducing the help? Not a crime as long as it's consensual.

It could have put him one step closer to a guilty verdict if the Jones case goes to court, which I have to think would have just delayed what is playing out now.

Jones's is a civil suit, and would not have resulted in a felony conviction, and so would not offer cause for impeachment.

And as for the dead ex-intern in Georgetown: Jeez, if her were gonna murder anyone, it shoulda been Jones. The fact that she's still alive suggests he's not homicidally inclined.
