Alan, I knew there was a reason that I felt comfortable with the comments you have made and I want to let you know that many, including myself feel the way that you do. I won't go into my life history with you at this time but want to tell you that I am a sincere person that has tried many ways to find God and when you are made to feel guilt as a kid it becomes hard to understand what God desires from you. Many times I have been told by representatives of God that man made religion will take you to hell and then they would hypocritally preach a guilt sermon telling you what you must do to be presentable to the Lord. Every church I have attended has mixed works with a grace message. I think maybe that man's ego has much to do with it. I honestly believe that for it to work the church must turn away from man made requirements and have only one suggestion. A desire to know Jesus. I don't have much time now, but would like to talk further. In His name, James

Alan---you mentioned Bob Tilton---and that raises my blood pressure. The guy is a crook and con artist---I don't know how he keeps going. One of the major net-works (CBS, ABC, or NBC) did a research documentary on him a few years back---you may have seen it---but what I have learned through the years is this: In order to have counterfeit money, there must be the genuine for them to try and imitate---but an expert, and those knowledgable with money, can spot it "a mile away." The Bob Tiltons of the world have a lot to answer for---however, I refuse to let the religious charltons of the world keep me from church and enjoying my worship and learning. When I have to stay home, like I did today, due to my wife's "bug", I feel a real vacuum in my life. The TV ministers I heard today were okay, but the fellowship with my fellow-believers, etc.---it just isn't the same.
