What are your thoughts on this. Having watched compaq recently, I am begining to get very confused. First they use the GX in desktops, then move it to notebooks and put K6's in the desktops.. okay that kinda made sense.

But now they buy digital. This gets really interesting. If CPQ doesn what I think they might do, they now have the ability to lock Intel out of the high-end at cpq. I mean think about it.. gx and K6 on the low-end. Alpha on the high-end.

And how does Intel and DEC's settlement look to you now. And why in gods name would CPQ want DEC anyway. Other than the name and a small server business there isn't one thing (other than alphas) that CPQ could possibly be interested in. I mean for 9.6 billion dollars whatever CPQ is acquiring with DEC they could do on their own...
