Hi UE,

Hope you are doing well. Lots of respect for you not trying to catch falling knives during all of this! When I stop hearing everyone call a bottom every day, then we may actually be closer to finding the bottom.

Wanted to revisit this little indicator. As we talked about earlier, it's usually reserved for day trading, but it has been eerily accurate forecasting this drop. It's not a primary indicator, but I'm referencing it more and more as we get into uncharted territory.

It got me long today as soon as we tagged it....for a daytrade, lol. I need a lot more confirmation to even think we have hit THE bottom. There isn't any way to calculate what PE's are going to be going forward, as we don't know the extent businesses will be hit. TA isn't working, because we are dealing with an exogenous event that hasn't resolved yet.

There are many lessons for all of us during this. We will have plenty of time later to reflect on those.

Best,

Kim

I am back again....I am just starting to look at stocks again. In my personal portfolios I don't have much of an American group of stocks...In fact there is only one ...Theralase Technologies [OTCB:TLTFF].... It is not an attractive stock to American investors being worth $0.13/share.

why do I hang onto this stock...well first of all this is the only stock I can afford in this account. I really do believe this company has a solution to the issue of Bladder cancer. They have had issues in their management but hopefully that will be ironed out... they are in Phase 2 trials and if these trials are as successful as the Phase 1 trials this has the potential of being a great find.

I also have the stock in my Non-Taxfree account, my TFSA and my RRSP.

I am going to resurrect my fantasy American portfolio...back in March I took it down to cash...

To remind everyone of the final transactions, taking it down to cash, here is the last portfolio update.

So....we made 12.42% by cashing out in March 2020.... from August 02, 2019 to Aug 02, 2020

Actually that was more of a 8 month year as I was tied up recovering from Covid-19. I had a similar experience with my personal portfolios.... In fact I did not cash out completely and hung onto a few stocks for that period and I could not make changes to the portfolios while I was in Hospital ICU and later in Rehab. You could not use their computers (contamination issues) and I did not bring my laptop to the hospital/rehab and I had not way to get it from my apartment.

I was worried about the potential loss over that time....but it recovered to the point I actually made about $7000CDN over that time period.

It shows that picking solid stocks play well in long term holding.

I may start up the Canadian fantasy portfolio again if there is interest but most participants here deal in American stocks so I would have to have encouragement to do so.

So I am starting with $112,423.63.... the money from the Portfolio after I cashed out. I will look for potential winners in these troubled times. I have learned from experience that stocks that work well in Canada don't always work well in the USA.... so it may take a few days to make my portfolio.

I am open to suggestions as always and will give my assessment on any proposed.
