Perhaps you should reread your history. This country was built by greedy SOB's that exploited the poor for the first 150 years. Remember reading about sweatshops. Children being forced to work under inhuman conditions. 80 hour weeks no benifits no insurance no sick pay. All that changed due to Government intervention that ended those abuses. What your really saying is that you don't want someone taking YOUR money to help others. Should we eliminate MEDICARE the biggest giveaway program. How about Social Security mabey Mom and Dad should move back in with you (as that was the norm before social security). I agree that welfare should be curtailed but a lot of the SOCIAL programs that are in place are benificial and needed.
