Duncan -- Not to get too serious about this, but any policy questions regarding Iran-Contra were lost in the illegalities involved. Congress would not allow the Reaganites to use taxpayers money to go after the Sandinistas so the shadow guys - North, Poindexter, Secord, Hakkim, et al sold arms to the Iranis and cocaine to US. Certainly sounds like a Constitutional question to ME. Oh, and I don't think the Boinking Incident resulted in the deaths of thousands of innocent peasant men, women and children at the hands of any CIA-supported private militia, either. But, I could be mistaken.

Iran-Contra was a policy dispute that the Dems tried to criminalize.

Huh? Clandestine plans to trade arms for hostages was a policy dispute? Good God.

And remember the key, bible, and cake delivered to Rafsanjani? Talk about politicians making themselves ridiculous! I cringed then as I do now.
